Faculty & Department Chairs,
Academic Technology & Creative Services is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for Sac State’s eAcademy program. The eAcademy program is a comprehensive course-instructor professional development opportunity where instructors convert a traditional face-to-face course into a Hybrid format. Instructors will work in cohorts and have the opportunity to receive hands-on help transforming their course. The cohorts must consist of 2-4 instructors where each instructor will transform a course (one course per instructor). Ideally, the cohort should be part of a College, Department, or University eLearning initiative. Instructors who successfully complete the program will receive a $1,500 professional development allotment. The eAcademy will be delivered by a team of faculty and staff who will work with each participant from the start of the eAcademy to the delivery of the transformed course. Please note that the eAcademy has deliverables and participants must be willing and able to devote the time and effort. The eAcademy is delivered as a Hybrid course and participants are required to attend about 8 face-to-face sessions on Friday mornings, as well as participate in online activities. In addition, you must be at least an intermediate user of SacCT tools and features – this is NOT a technical workshop on how to use SacCT.
Our goal is to help Faculty develop and deliver a quality course. Thus, our program is built upon Quality Matters, which is a researched-based course development rubric.
To apply, each department cohort must submit the attached application by Dec. 6, 2013. The application requires the approval of the Dean and Department chair, see application.
